Gunmen have reportedly kidnapped a commissioner’s wife and daughter in Plateau State.
The bandits were said to have attacked the residence of the Commissioner for Environment, Usman Bamaiyi, located in Gindiri area of Jos last Saturday.
The Commissioner is one of the aspirants for a seat in the House of Representatives on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
According to an eyewitness, who is a resident of the area, the bandits, who were said to be heavily armed, reportedly whisked the victims away to an unknown location.

Confirming the inciden, the spokesperson for the Plateau State Police Command, Gabriel Ogaba, told newsmen that detectives had. even deployed to the area to trail and arrest the culprits.
He said: “We are aware of the incident, the police has swung into action and are on the trail of the kidnappers. Investigation is on going to arrest the bandits’ and rescue the victims.
