No fewer than seven persons on Friday died and five others critically injured in a motor accident on Lagos Ibadan expressway.
The Ogun State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), Ahmed Umar, said the accident involving a Mazda commercial bus marked LSR 696 XS and a truck with registration number T-4889 LA occured around 7.40 pm opposite FRSC office in Ogunmakin KM 27 on Lagos – Ibadan expressway.
According to the FRSC boss the injured victims were rescued and taken to Victory Hospital, Ogere for treatment and the dead bodies deposited at a private morgue, FOS Morgue, Ishara, Ogun State.
Umar said the accident was caused by the Mazda bus, after losing control and running into the moving truck due to overspeeding.
He cautioned motorists to be safety conscious and be observing the speed limit always,
Commiserating with families of the victims, Umar enjoined them to contact the FRSC Command in Ogunmakin area of of Ogun State for details of the crash and reclaim the properties of the victims recovered from the scene of the crash.
