Police operatives in Ogun State have arrested 49-year old father, Bola Amoda, for allegedly impregnating his 14-year old daughter in Ode Remo in Remo North Local Government Area of the state.
Confirming the suspect’s arrest to newsmen on Sunday, the spokesman for Ogun State Police Command, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said the father was also accused of inviting other men to have sex with the victim in his house at Idi Oro Street in Ode Remo and was collecting money from them, thereby practically turning her into a prostitute.
The police spokesman said the suspect was immediately arrested as soon as the police received a tip off from residents of the area.
He said: “Following the report, the DPO of Ode Remo Division, CSP Olayemi Fasogbon, detailed his detectives to the scene and the suspect was arrested.
“On interrogation, the suspect, who first denied the allegations, later confessed when the victim confronted him.
“His confession led to the arrest of five others who have slept with her at different times on the invitation of the father.”
“He identified the other suspects, who had slept with the victim as Ahmed Ogunkoya (30), Muyiwa Adeoye (48), David Sunday Solaja (69), Emmanuel Olusanya (50) and Joshua Olaniran (50).”
Oyeyemi, who explained that the five suspects confessed that they slept with the teenage girl and paying the father, said the victim’s mother had separated from the man some years back.
Police spokesman said: “She (victim) has been taken to the state hospital in Isara, where it was confirmed that she is pregnant.
“The victim has insisted that it was her father who is responsible for the pregnancy because he was the only person that slept with her within the period she conceived.”
Oyeyemi said the case will be transferred to the Anti-human Trafficking and Child Labour Unit of the state command as directed by the Commissioner of Police in Ogun State, Lanre Bankole.
