The abductors of former Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State, Prof. Onje Gye-Wado, have reached out the victim family to demand N70 million ransom before his release.
The victim’s relation, who preferred anonymity, on Saturday in Lafia, disclosed that that the gunmen after kidnapping the former deputy governor on Friday morning in Gwagi village of Wamba Local Government, called the family for the first time for ransom payment.
He said: “The family has pleaded with the abductors to accept N2 million instead of the N70 million they are requesting requested because of the unavailability of cash during this Easter holiday. We can not immediately raise anything more than N2million because the Federal Government has just decalred a public holiday.”
