Gunmen have kidnapped a 25 year-old pregnant woman, Rahila Da’u, in Bauchi State.
The men armed with AK-47 rifles and other dangerous weapons reportedly attacked the victim’s residence in Gibob, a Fulani settlement in Gizaki Village of Lusa Ward, Bogoro Local Government Area of Bauchi State.
It was learnt that that the gunmen suspected to be Fulani stormed Gibob, a Fulani settlement in Gizaki Village of Lusa Ward in Bogoro Council Area and kidnapped Rahila, in the middle of the night and took the pregnant woman away to an undisclosed location.
Pleading anonymity, the source said: “The gunmen carried AK-47 rifles, machetes and other dangerous weapons. during the operationl. They invaded the settlement, shooting sporadically within the family compound of Alhaji Da’u Bello, a 70-year old Fulani man. They abducted his daughter Rahils Da’u aged about 25 years.
“The kidnappers inflicted varying degrees of injuries on the victims and a fracture on the left leg of Alhaji Bello before they took away his daughter.
“Alhaji Bello Dau was taken to the hospital for treatment and was later referred to the Orthopedic Hospital in Kano for specialist attention considering the level of the fracture which was a serious one and must be attended to by specialists.”
The spokesperson for the State Police Command, Ahmed Wakili, said that incident had been reported to the Bogoro Police Division Station.
According to him, on the 18th of July 2023, the gunmen whose number cannot be ascertained yet, stormed the victim’s home in Gibob a Fulani settlement in Gizaki Village of Lusa Ward in Bogoro LGA of Bauchi State bordering Plateau State.
However, he promised that the victim would be rescued unhurt, adding that the perpetrators would be apprehended and prosecuted in court.
