The former Secretary-General of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Sani Toro, on Saturday was reportedly abducted on Akwanga Road in Nasarawa State.
Also abducted with Toro was a former Assistant Coach of the Super Eagles, Garba Yila.
They were reportedly traveling from Abuja to Bauchi after attending a wedding ceremony of the son of former NFF President, Aminu Maigari, when the incident happened.
An informed source said the kidnappers had not reached out to the family for ransom.
Confirming the incident, the Bauchi State Police Command’s spokesman, Ahmed Wakili, said he was yet to have details of the abduction because “it happened outside Bauchi State.”
“Yes, the news is true. I got across to one of his sons, who told me he was abducted on Akwanga Road in Nasarawa while returning from Abuja. Other details when I get them will be communicated to you,” he told journalists, who called him to know about the incident.
