A 29-year old Chinese, Gang Deng, has been arrested by operatives of the Economic And Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over an alleged illegal mining in Ilorin, Kwara State capital.
The Head, Media and Publicity of the commission, Wilson Uwujaren, in a statement on Saturday, said the suspect was arrested on Friday by the agency’s Ilorin Zonal Command after finding in his possession crude minerals without authority.
The statement read: “A truck load of minerals suspected to be lepidolite was recovered from him. The suspect will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.”
