Twenty persons have been burnt to death in a ghastly motor accident on Kaduna-Abuja Road
According to the Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) in Kaduna State, Hafiz Muhammad, the accident happened in the early Tuesday morning when a bus crashed into a stationary cement-laden trailer and caught fire, killing all its occupants.
The FRSC boss said that accident might have been caused by overspeeding or driver feeling sleepy due to a long overnight journey.
He said: “The bus crashed into a BUA Cement trailer and then went into flames. 20 people were on the bus among them 17 male adults, 2 women and a minor.
“They said the trailer was parked when the bus went under it. It was terrible. We always warn bus drivers against night journeys.
“Though there is no law against night journeys, it is very risky because most of the accidents recorded along that route are due to night travelings.”
