An herbalist has reportedly died before receiving the human parts he requested from his client for money ritual in Ilorin, Kwara State capital.
Two men, Wasiu Omonose (35) and Akanbi Ibrahim (32), found to be in possession of a female human head and wrists, were reportedly returning from the deceased native doctor when they were arrested by a police patrol team at Oke Oyi-Jebba road in Ilorin.
The suspects confessed during police investigation that they were coming form their heabalist, who demanded the human parts after they were told that he was dead.
They said they were disappointed to hear about the herbalist’s death from his apprentice and were riding on a tricycle back home when they were arrested the police patrol.
A police source among the investigation team, who preferred anonymity, said: “During investigation, one of the suspects told the officers that by the time they went to deliver the head and the hands, they called the herbalist but the phone was picked by one of his family members who broke the news of his death. Also, on getting to his house, they also confirmed that he was dead.
“Our investigation shows that the tricycle operator was unaware of the contents of the two suspects’ bag when they were caught.”
