Gunmen kill FIRS director, injure another on Niger road

Gunmen have shot dead a director of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), Alhaji Mohammadu Kudu Lawal.

His Toyota Hilux vehicle on Sunday reportedly ran into the gunmen at Saminaka village in Lapai Local Government Area (LGA) of Niger State.

The deceased, who was the FIRS State Coordinator for Kebbi, Sokoto, and Zamfara States, was reportedly traveling back to Abuja, the federal capital territory (FCT) from his native town, Lafiagi, in Kwara State,

Another staff of the FIRS, whose name was not immediately known and travelling with him in same car was said to have sustained injuries in the attack.
