Gunmen have kidnapped a Plateau State traditional ruler in his palace.
The monarch, who is the district head of Panyam in Mangu Local Government Area, Adamu Derwan, was seized on early Monday morning from the comfort of his palace by the gunmen.
On getting to the palace premises, the armed men were said to be shooting sporadically to scare the monarch’s subjects away.
A palace source, said the traditional ruler was whisked away to an unknown destination.
Meanwhile, the spokesperson for the statepolice command, Alfred Alago, who confirmed the incident, said the state police commissioner has dispatched a team of operatives to the affected area and the assailants are being trailed.
He, however, pleaded for time to give more details of the incident.
