Armed men have reportedly engaged the Joint Task Force (JTF) men in a gun battle and killed two in the team at Sabon Gero area of the Millennium City, Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
Also, several residents of the community, including a pharmacist and his wife were abducted by the armed bandits in the attack.
However, six persons among the victims were able to escape from the bandits.
Narrating the incident to newsmen, an eyewitness would not want his name.in prints, disclosed that the bandits stormed the community around 1.00am on Wednesday, saying: “Some of us were still doing some chores when we started hearing gunshots. The gunmen broke into people’s houses and took them away. They also took away other residents while they were trying to flee.
“We learnt that two JTF members were killed in the attack while trying to stop the bandits from kidnapping some residents.”
It would be recalled that two weeks ago, no fewer than seven residents of Keke A and Keke B communities in the same area, including the wife of a soldier were kidnapped.
Meanwhile, spokesperson for the state police command, Mohammed Jalige, said he was yet to be briefed.
