The anti-graft agency, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has vowed to clamp down on internet fraudsters otherwise known as “Yahoo boys.”
With a renewed vigour, the anti-graft body said it was prepared to fight the cyber crime, warning that landlords, who rent their houses to “Yahoo boys” risk fifteen years imprisonment.
The warning by the EFCC captured in an e-flier, which was scheduled for a Twitter Spaces debate on June 29 (today) at 6.00pm, reads: “Be part of this interesting conversation as we discuss the implications of having your property in use by criminals, on the next edition of EFCC connect.”
In some of the EFCC programmes it was revealed that the “Yahoo boys” have gone spiritual.
The EFCC with a promise, said it will clamp down on their activities, adding that “Yahoo boys now going spiritual even doing money ritual and making it a new usual we will come for those individuals, tell them it won’t be business as usual.
“No going back on the onslaught against yahoo-yahoo or yahoo-plus, whatever nomenclature. Give up, or give in. The Eagle will get you anytime, anywhere.”
