Unknown persons have lured a 70-year old woman, Alhaja Kadijat Falekulo, to her death in Ondo town, Ondo State.
The victim was said to have been matcheted on the neck in her room in Sabo Area of Ondo town, after the unknown assailants had disguised as customers buying some foodstuffs from her.
A source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said: “The assailants said they wanted to buy foodstuff from the woman and as she got out to attend to them, suddenly they brought out a matchet and cut her at the neck and after that, they stole her jewellery.
“After committing the act, the hoodlums also attempted to set her room ablaze but were not successful.”
Meanwhile, the spokesperson for the Ondo State Police Command, Funmilayo Odunlami, has confirmed the incident.
She said police investigations into the incident have started.
