The Osun State Police Command has confirmed death of a 19-year old student of Ipetu-Ijesa College of Technology, Olonade Tomiwa, who reportedly committed suicide in Ilesa.
In a statement by the state Command’s spokesperson, Yemisi Opalola, in Osogbo. the teenager hanged himself with a telephone cable inside the compound of his hostel.
According to her, the incident was reported by a youth leader of the community, Agboola Olusola, at Ilesa ‘A’ Police Division.
She said the police operatives that visited the scene of the incident claimed that deceased was found with no mark of violence his body.
The police spokesperson said photographs of the scene were taken by the police, adding that the corpse had been deposited at mortuary of the Wesley Guild Hospital, Ilesa.
