Yobe Varsity student slumps, dies shortly after writing exams

A student of the Yobe State University, Damaturu, Maryam Lawan Goroma, on Thursday slumped and died shortly after writing her examination.

The deceased classmate, Bukar Maisandari, wrote on her Facebook wall that Maryam, a Chemical Engineering student, was alive and kicking before the incident.

In the post, she wrote: “Innaa Lillaahi Wa Innaa Ilaihir Raaji’uun. I received with a heavy heart the news of the sudden death of our classmate Maryam Lawan Goroma.

“She was healthy and hearty until this afternoon when she suddenly collapsed and was confirmed dead shortly.”
