Unknown persons suspected to be ritualists have beheaded a security guard of the Living Faith Church, popularly known as Winners’ Chapel, Anthony Egbo, in Bayelsa State.
The 37-year old security guard was reportedly attacked and killed before he was beheaded on Wednesday night at the church located at Elebele community in Ogbia Local Government Area of state.
An assistant pastor of the church, whose name was not known, reportedly discovered the mutilated body of the victim around 5.53 am in the church premises.
The pastor, who disclosed that the head and throat of the deceased were missing, said: “When people saw him, he was beheaded. His throat was missing. People suspected that it may be a ritual killing.”
The spokesman for the Bayelsa State Police Command, Asinim Butswat, said the body of the security guard had been recovered and deposited at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Yenagoa for autopsy.
