A suspected terrorist has blown himself up to evade security arrest in Kaduna.
The unidentified man on early Monday morning was said to have used an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) to take his own life when the operatives of the Department of State Service (DSS), the police and soldiers stormed his house at Ibrahim Haske Road in the KEKE community of Kaduna Millennium City.
The terrorist reportedly exchanged gunshots around 1.00am with the security men but when he realized he had been surrounded he ended his life. with the explosive.
An AK-47 rifle and two IEDs that were later defused by the Anti-bomb squad were reportedly found inside the terrorist’s house, according to a security source.
The source said: “The man’s body was mutilated due to the explosive device, while his wife and children were taken away by DSS officials in their vehicles.”
Also, a community leader, Malam Samaila, who confirmed the incident, said the security operatives had barricaded the streetleading to the suspect’s house to prevent access into it.
Samaila said the security personnel might have tracked down the suspect to his residence to arrest him but when he realized that he couldn’t escape he decided to take his own life.
