A suspected cultist simply identified as Abdurasam has reportedly stabbed a fellow cult member to death in Sapele, Delta State.
Investigation revealed that the suspect on Friday evening killed the unidentified cult member at Yam section of Igbudu Market at Hausa Quarters on Warri/Sapele Road over an argument that borders on unpaid debt.
A man, who witnessed the incident but preferred not to be named, said: “Abdurasam (the suspect) had a serious argument with his fellow cult member over money he borrowed from him.
“On Friday evening when Abdurasam spotted the fellow cult member he demanded repayment of the debt he was owing him. Then an argument ensued between them and at stage, the argument was very hot. Abdurasam became so angry with the fellow cult member that he stabbed him in the chest.
The victim bled to death because nobody in the vicinity was available to help him. Abdurasam fled the scene of the incident to an unknown location after realizing what he had done.
Meanwhile, the Delta State Police Command’s spokesperson, Bright Edafe, is yet to make statement on the incident.
