A sacked Osun State High Court judge, Justice Olamide Folahanmi Oloyede, has been reinstated after challenging and wining the suit against her sack by the state government.
Justice Oloyede on Tuesday, June 1, 2022, resumed at the Ijebu-Jesa Division of the Osun State High Court since the state government did not appeal the judgement of the High Court that ordered her reinstatement.
In 2016, Justice Oloyede was recommended for retirement by the National Judicial Council (NJC) following the petition of the Osun Civil Societies Coalition, who accused her of not conducting herself in a manner that can preserve the dignity of her office, impartiality and independence of the judiciary.
Oloyede, who asked the Osun State House of Assembly to the impeach Rauf Aregbesola as the state governor after her sack approached the court to challenge her compulsory retirement.
Ordering her reinstatement in June 2021, a federal High Court in Abuja said her sack was illegal.
