Driver of a private car, Bello Ayodeji, on Friday hit and crushed a nursing mother on a commercial motorcycle to death in Agunbelewo area of Osogbo, the Osun State capital.
The woman, simply identified as Iyawo Ori-Ade, was said to be going to buy electricity around 3.00pm when a Toyota Camry car marked Lagos KRD 930 HV, hit the motorcycle.
An eyewitness, Wale Oladele, who explained that the driver was going to Okini when he lost control of the car and crashed into the oncoming motorcycle, said: “The woman and the rider sustained severe injuries and were rushed to the Osun State University Teaching Hospital for treatment where she eventually died.”
Meanwhile, the Osun State Police Command’s spokesperson, Yemisi Opalola, who confirmed the incident, said: “The passenger died in the hospital she was rushed to for treatment. Her corpse was deposited at the mortuary for autopsy. Investigation in progress.”
