The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Senator Ademola Adeleke, as the winner of the Osun State July 16, 2022 governorship election.
Adeleke polled 403,371 votes to beat the incumbent governor, Mr. Gboyega Oyetola, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who scored 375,027 votes in the keenly contested poll.

The Returning Officer of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, declared Adeleke winner of the election and returned him elected.
Adeleke won in 17 Local Government Areas and Oyetola won in 13 Council Areas.
