$75,000 on Wednesday disappeared into thin air as crowd struggled to enter through the main gate into the premises of the All Progressives Congress (APC) national secretariat in Abuja.
Also, another N43,000,000 was said to have be stolen at the same venue and same time.
It was gathered that the money disappeared as aspirants and their supporters were trying to force their way into the premises of the party.
However, it was learnt that the missing monies were not from sale of nomination and expression of interest forms.
A source within the party secretariat said aspirants are expected to pay into designated account numbers before they would be allowed to collect their forms from the party secretariat.
The source, who preferred anonymity, said: “It’s actually $75,000. You know there was a struggle at the gate when aspirants and supporters were trying to get in.
“When the parcel of money dropped, it went missing in a flash. By the time security operatives were alerted, the thief had vanished with the envelope.”
Speaking on why there was a rush within the premises, the source said the party resorted to use canopies because of the ongoing renovation/refurbishment works at the secretariat main building.
He said the party may decide to move to the International Conference Centre, Abuja to continue sales of forms to the aspirants since it is clear that the party premises can not accommodate the exercise.
