Armed men on Saturday evening killed an officer of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps traveling on Oke Ako-Ajowa Road in Ajoni Local Council Development Area of Ekiti State.
After shooting and killing him, the unidentified gunmen were said to have also kidnapped the officer’s younger brother and two kids traveling with him in his car.
The NSCDC officer was traveling from Ado-Ekiti, his work station, to his hometown, when the incident happened.
Confirming the incident, the NSCDC Public Relations Officer in Ekiti State, Tolu Afolabi, in a terse statement, said: “We lost one of our officers. We were told he was shot enroute the town and unconfirmed reports have it that two of his brothers were abducted. We are still waiting for reliable information.”
