Armed men on Tuesday evening abducted an unidentified clergyman at Nnobi in Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State.
An eye witness said the victims was buying fruits at a popular junction in Nnobi when the gunmen seized him and whisked him away to an unknown location.
The eye witness, who pleaded anonymity, smtold newsmen that: “the man stopped at Nnobi junction, parked his Lexus RX 300 with plate number Anambra GDD 882 PW while coming from Awka-Etiti.
“He was making a phone call as he alighted from the vehicle The engine of the was running when the men swooped on him and picked him at gun point.
“The men shot several bullets into the air tos scare people away before taking him away. They forcefully bundled him into their jeep, leaving his car on the road as they drove off.”
The police spokesman in Anambra State, Ikenga Tochukwu, however could not confirm the incident.
He told newsmen that he was not aware of any such incident.
