An armed gang has abducted a monarch in Ebonyi State, Ambrose Ogbu, inside his palace.
A palace source, who pleaded not to be named, said the traditional ruler of Isu Community in Onicha Local Government Area, who is Ezentum II of the community, was abducted with his gateman.
Narrating how the incident happened around 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, he said: “Our royal father was kidnapped in his palace. The kidnappers came on many motorcycles and ordered the gateman to call the chief out.
“As the chief was came out, they demanded his Hundai SUV car key and immediately forced him into the car and drove himband the gate man away. Right now, no contact has been established with the family. We pray he returns back alive.”
The state police command’s spokesman, Chris Anyanwu, confirmed the incident, saying: “Yes, we are aware of the abduction of the traditional ruler. It happened in Isu, Onicha. The fact now is that we have yet to get the full details.”
