Fleeing armed bandits have reportedly abandoned ten stolen motorcycles after running out of fuel in Abuja.
The bandits were said to have earlier attacked Adagba in Abaji Area Council of the Area Council, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and were forced to abandon 10 out of the 36 motorcycles they stole from the community.
They reportedly ran out of fuel in a forest at a neigbouring community, Zago, on the border of Niger State.
During the bandits ‘ attack last Saturday night on Adagba community, a resident was killed, eight others abducted and 36 motorcycles were stolen.
According to a resident, Shehu Garba, the bandits were trying to escape from Adagba community, when they ran out of fuel in a forest near Zago village.
He said: “Around 7.00am on Monday, someone from Zago village called that the fleeing bandits had abandoned 10 motorcycles inside the bush.”
Confirming the incident, the Madaki of Adagba, Adamu Wambai, said the ten motorcycles had been returned to his palace.
