Police operatives in Adamawa State have arrested a 29-year dry cleaner, Abubakar Kawu, for allegedly abducting and strangling a six-year old boy, Abdulhafiz Buba Aliyu, to death.
According to a statement by the police spokesman in the state, Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, the suspect on May 12, 2023, kidnapped the victim and demanded a N3.5 million ransom from his father, Muhammed Buba Aliyu.
Nguroje explained that the father’s plea to pay N50,000 annoyed the kidnapper and he starngled the boy to death, saying the amount was ridiculous.
He said the suspect was arrested by security operatives a few days to killing the victim.
The police spokesman assured that the suspect would be charged to court soon.
