Four travelers have died and five others critically injured in a ghastly motor accident on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
The accident involving a Toyota Sienna bus marked KJA738ET and a trailer with registration number KMC548YD occured on Monday about 3.20pm around Ogere axis of Remo North Local Government Area, Ogun State.
According to the spokesperson of the Federal Road Safety Corps in Ogun State, Florence Okpe, the accident was caused by over speeding.
Okpe, who spoke with newsmen in Abeokuta, said: “A total of nine persons were involved, which comprised six male adults, two female adults and one male child.
“Five persons were injured: two male adults, two female adults and a male child. Four persons were reported dead from the crash, all male adults.
“The suspected cause of the crash was speeding, which led to loss of control on the part of the Sienna bus, which collided with the truck when the truck driver was trying to reverse.
“The injured victims were taken to Victory Hospital, Ogere, for medical attention, while the corpses were deposited at the FOS Ipara morgue.”
