Two persons have reportedly lost their lives in a motor accident on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
It was gathered that the lone accident involving a truck near Kara Market occurred around 8.00pm on Wednesday.
The truck on top speed was said to be carrying some traders and tubers of yam to Ogun State, when its driver reportedly lost control and crashed into the concrete barricade along the road.
Confirming the accident, the Ogun State Commandant of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Ahmad Umar, told journalists that the truck fell on its side as the tubers of yams spilled into a ditch by the roadside.
He said: “Two out of the four males sitting on top of the yams also fell and died instantly after the truck fell on one of them.”
The FRSC boss, who linked the crash to speed limit violations, brake failure and loss of control, said the truck had been towed away from the road.
He added that the MTD Isheri Police Division had taken custody of the crashed vehicle and that the corpses have been deposited at the hospital mortuary.
