Former governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, may soon be dumping the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
A chieftain of the APC and former Chief of Staff to the governor of Rivers State, Chief Tony Okocha, at a press conference in Port Harcourt, the state capital, said the party is ready to receive Wike when he decides to join the party.
Maintaining that Wike has the right to join any party of his choice, he said: “In the leadership of the Tinubu family in Rivers State, we are at peace 100 per cent with His Excellency, Barr. Nyesom Wike, the immediate past Governor of Rivers State as our leader.”
Wike, who worked to ensure victory of the APC candidate at the February 25 presidential election, was quoted in some media reports to have said he was ready to serve in the Bola Tinubu administration if called upon.
