A suspected political thug identified by his alias as Spanner and his 7-year old daughter, Fatiah, have been killed by unknown gunnmen on Friday afternoon in Osogbo, the Osun State capital.
The deceased, who is an assistant to the Chairman of the Osogbo branch of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Kazeem Oyewale aka Asiri Eniba, was reportedly shot dead at the shop of one of his wives in Oke-Ijetu, Ilesa-Garage area of the town.
Spanner was said to have gone to the shop of his wife, who just put to bed, to get some items for her when the gunmen attacked and killed him.
A source, who pleaded anonymity, explained that the deceased attempted to escape and ran but was fell by the gunmen’s bullets.
He further explained that his daughter, who was beside him, was also killed by stray bullets.
The source said: “After he (Spanner) was hit by the bullets, he started to run away with blood but they (gunmnen) followed him and shot him dead. Stray bullets also hit his daughter and she died before she got to the hospital.”
