A pastor, Zagabe Chiluza, has reportedly wedded four virgin women in one day at a colourful ceremony in the Republic of Congo.
The Congolese pastor, who claimed that he was adopting the idea of polygamy from the Bible, reportedly has a wife before marrying the four women.
He referred to Jacob, whom he said had four wives, saying “I am encouraging others to practice polygamy,”
He also said men from his church can only marry virgins.
Insisting that the Bible does not see polygamy as a sin, he said: “I have one wife already and today I’m going to marry these four. They will join the first wife.
“The idea of marrying many wives originated from the Bible. Jacob had many wives; Leah and Rachel, then Bilha and Zilpa. I got saved in 1986, and today I’m glad to have five wives.”
