The candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for 2023 presidential election, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on Tuesday cursed members and supporters of the Labour Party (LP).
Ahead of the July 16, 2022 Osun State governorship election, Tinubu, who joined other party chieftains, including his running mate, Kashim Shettima, the APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Adamu, Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo, Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti, Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi, Nasir el-Rufai of Kaduna, Abdulrahaman Abudulrasak of Kwara, Hope Uzodinma of Imo, Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano, Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos, and Prof. Babagana Zullum of Borno, said the LP supporters will labour till they die.
He spoke in support of the state governor, Gboyega Oyetola ‘s second term bid, at the party’s mega rally held at the Osogbo City Stadium, saying the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), the Social Democratic Party (SDP), the Accord and other are no match for the APC in the forthcoming poll.
Governor of Osun State, Gboyega Oyetola is seeking to return to power for his second term, while Ademola Adeleke of the PDP is the front runner for the gubernatorial race.
Tinubu said: “I ask you to please do the same thing you did in Ekiti. Come out with your PVCs and vote massively for APC. I want you people of Osun to consider your future and vote for the APC.
“The voting is now in your hand. Be very vigilant. Be watchful. You will not do it in vain.
“Think about your children and vote accordingly so you can see the future. Come out en masse. Don’t mind PDP and other mushroom parties like Labour Party; they will labour till they die. God will not make you labourers.
“I ask you to please do the same thing you did in Ekiti. Come out with your PVCs and vote massively for APC. The vote is in your hand. Be very vigilant. Be watchful. You will not do it in vain.”

“You’re next. We will be here till tomorrow. We will come back here for victory dance. Look at the trajectory of our lives. We make promises and fulfil them. We are the ones upholding the party, the Buhari party. Don’t answer the naysayers.”
Addressing the party’s loyalists, Adamu said the mega rally was meant to sell Oyetola to the people of Osun, noting that the APC would not take the people for granted.
He said: “Osun State deserves a leader like Oyetola to fast track its development. This is why we have come in full strength to support him in a bid to ensure his re-election. Those who have a fair mind will testify that he has done so much since he became governor in 2018.
“We are here not only to testify to what he has done but to appeal to you to turn out in large numbers to vote massively for him. We are anticipating a better outcome than what we had in Ekiti and by the grace of God, we are sure of victory. I want you to be the APC ambassadors, telling those who are not here what you have seen. Continue to spread the good works of this government in the nooks and crannies of the state. We are not leaving any chances with the affairs of Osun.”
Governor Gboyega Oyetola, in his own remarks, assured that he would not renege on his campaign promises to the people.
He said workers should disregard the false statements by the opposition he would not cater for their welfare in his second term.
Also, party chieftains that spoke at the rally include Senate President, Senator Ahmad Lawan, and the former APC national chairman, Adams Oshiomhole.
