Sudden sickness of a defendant, Magdalene Chiefuna, on Monday forced a court trial case of alleged murder of a Master’s student of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Timothy Adegoke, to go for a short adjournment.
The presiding judge, Justice Bola Adepele-Ojo of an Osun State High Court 1, Osogbo, adjourned further hearing on the matter till April 25, 2022.
Adepele-Ojo during the last hearing ruled against a no-case submission defence counsel entered on behalf of the accused persons, the owner of the Hilton Hotel and Resorts, Dr. Ramon Adedoyin; and six of his staff, Adedeji Adesola, Magdalene Chiefuna, Adeniyi Aderogba, Oluwale Lawrence, Oyetunde Kazeem and Adebayo Kunle,
The accused persons are arraigned on 11-count bordering on conspiracy, murder, altering of receipt and administration of extrajudicial oath.
The Monday proceedings which started at about 9:35 am was forced into short adjournment around 9:55 am when the sixth defendant, Chiefuna, already in the dock started coughing and slumped.
The judge immediately rose for brief adjournment as the defendant was led out of the courtroom by prison officials.
