A man, Peter Orji, has reportedly killed his elder brother, Godwin, over the payment of N1,500 electricity bill in Anambra State.
The suspect was said to have been angered and shot his brother, who had asked for his contribution of electricity bill at their residence in Uruagu in Nnewi North Local Government Area.
It was gathered that trouble started when power supply into Peter’s apartment was disconnected for refusal to pay the bill.
Not pleased with the disconnection of power supply to his flat, Peter reportedly brought out a gun from his flat and shot his brother to death.
Meanwhile, the spokesman for the state Police Command, Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed that the suspect had been arrested.
According to him, the suspect’s wife was first arrested at the crime scene, and the suspect was later picked up by the police.
Ikenga, who also confirmed that the suspect is currently in police custody with his wife, said the state Commissioner of Police, Echeng Echeng, had ordered that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation.
