A man, who accused his female lover of planning to dump him after spending on her, has allegedly macheted her to death in Kaduna State.
Kaduna State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, Muhammad Jalige, in a statement on Friday, said the suspect has been arrested.
The statement said the suspect, told the police that he had spent a lot of resources on her and she wanted to dump him for another man.
The statement further said that on April 14 at about 21:30hrs, police received a distress call that there was a mob action at the NEPA Roundabout in the Kaduna metropolis, where a crowd were about to lynch a man for killing his girlfriend.
“The police operatives immediately mobilised to the scene and met the suspect lying unconscious and surrounded by angry youths, who claimed he had attacked the girlfriend at Old Command Secondary and Nursery School on Sokoto Road, inflicting injuries on her face, arms and hands. The lady’s left hand was severed.
“The victim was rushed to Barau Dikko Teaching Hospital, for treatment. A doctor on duty confirmed she was dead. Meanwhile, the corpse of the lady has been deposited at the same hospital, for an autopsy.”
