Kenyan Deputy President, William Ruto, has been declared winner of the country’s August 9, 2022 presidential election.
He was declared winner of the election on Monday by country’s Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission, Wafula Chebukati.
The deputy president had won the poll with 7.18 million votes (50.49 percent) against 6.94 million (48.85 percent) by his closest rival, Raila Odinga.
However, some commissioners of the electoral body had reportedly rejected the results of the poll.
