Gunmen have reportedly kidnapped four female students of Kaduna State College of Education (KSCOE) in Gidan Waya, Jema’a Local Government Area.
The victims, a 200-level student in Biology/Geography Department; Racheal Edwin, 200-level student from Economic/History Department; Esther Ishaya, 200-level student from English/History Department; Promise Tanimu, and a 300-level student from Special Education/CRS Department; Beauty Luka, were kidnapped on Monday night at Mile 1 area of Gidan Waya axis.
The spokesman for the school’s chapter of Kaduna State Student Union (KADSSU), Comrade Benjamin Fie, in a statement, said the gunmen had reached out to the school to demand a huge ransom.
According to him: “It is with a bitter heart that the Kaduna state student union (KADSSU) of the prestigious Kaduna State College of Education, Gidan Waya wishes to make it known to the college community and the public that four of their students were abducted.
“The abductors are already demanding a huge ransom for their release. We want to use this medium to urge the college community and all the students to commit themselves, the school and their parents to prayers.”
