Also, no fewer than nineteen students of the Akwa Ibom State University, Mkpat-Enin, have been arrested by EFCC officials for suspected cyber fraud.
The anti-graft body’s officials from their Akwa Ibom office, who carried out the sting operation on Friday, were said to have recovered a number of laptops and mobile phones were from the suspects at their private hostels in Obong Abasi Lodge and Mfon Obong Lodge both in Ikot Akpadem, Mkpat-Enin Local Government Area of the state.
The suspects were accused of involvement in cyber fraud, including romance scams, fraudulent cryptocurrency transactions and impersonation will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded on their cases, according to an EFCC source.
