Nigeria’s controversial singer, Habib Okikiola otherwise known as Portable, is facing police probe, following his claim of founding two notorious cult groups, One Million Boys and Ajah Boys.
Portable’s viral video, where he reportedly announced owning the Lagos gangs notorious for murders, abductions and armed robberies led the Inspector General of Police, Usman Baba, to order an investigation into his claim, according to the Force Headquarters’ spokesman, Muyiwa Adejobi.
In a statement on Monday, Adejobi disclosed that the IGP ordered the probe of Portable’s involvement with the two groups, whose many members, at different times, have been arrested and some others declared wanted.
The statement read partly: “The IGP has ordered CP Lagos to investigate the indicting statement and take necessary legal action.
“This directive is premised on the continuous effort to fish out pillars and sponsors of cult groups in order to decimate their activities.”
