The former Nigeria’s president, Goodluck Jonathan, has joined the presidential race on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Members of a Coalition of Northern Groups on Monday were at the International Conference Centre in Abuja to pick the APC’s nomination and expression of interest form on behalf of Jonathan.
Members of the group, who were wearing face caps and T-shirts with the inscription, ‘run Jonathan run’, said the former president, whinisbyet to dump his political party, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP),was the most qualified to succeed Mohammadu Buhari.
Few days ago, members of the coalition groups visited Jonathan at his Abuja private office to ask him run for 2023 presidency.
Responding, Jonathan replied that he could not tell them if he would be joining the race or not but said he would keep watching as the political process is ongoing.
It is now clear that Jonathan is in the race to succeed Buhari in 2023 and also clear that the former president form the South if elected could not spend more than a 4-year term and this will be in favour of the North.
