The Academic Staff Union of University (ASUU) has suspended its 8-month old strike.
The ASUU has been on strike since February 14, 2022.
After an all night long meeting, the ASUU resolved in the early hours of Friday to suspend the industrial action, according a member of the union’s National Executive Committee (NEC).
Members of the state branches of the union had met to deliberate on verdict of the last week Court of Appeal, ordering the union to resume work and consequently voted to suspend the strike with some conditions.
The Court of Appeal ordered that ASUU should suspend the strike before its case before it could be heard.
So, the outcome of the National Executive Committee meeting attended by chairmen of the state chapters and members of the national executive at the ASUU National Secretariat in Abuja was to suspend the industrial action.
