The Ondo State Security Network Agency otherwise called the Amotekun Corps on Thursday said its men have arrested some suspects responsible for killing of over forty worshippers of St. Francis Catholic Church in Owo on June 5.
The Commander of the Amotekun in Ondo State, Chief Adetunji Adeleye, made the disclosure while parading 71 criminal suspects at the command’s headquarters in Akure.
According to Adeleye, the vehicle and of some weapons they used to perpetrate the crime have also been recovered by the Amotekun.
Though he did not specified figure of those arrested for the massacre, he said: “We have recovered the last vehicle, a Volkswagen Golf car, they used for that operation and we made some arrests and we have also recovered some vital things which we are working on.
“A number of people have been arrested concerning the Owo killings as well as some weapons they used.
“On that day, we pursued them to the point we recovered the vehicle and we are still pursuing them
“We have told you that until we get to the root, I can assure you that the perpetrators and their sponsors will be brought to book.”
