Bandits have reportedly attacked some villages in Kagarko Local Government Area (LGA) of Kaduna State, killing a chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Iliya Auta.
The victim was the APC chairman in Aribi Ward till the his death.
During the attacks last Monday night, the bandits also reportedly injured several residents, kidnapped many others and rustled their cattle.
Meanwhile, the state government and the military authorities have not confirmed or denied the incident.
Residents are lamenteing that armed bandits, over the last few months, have continued to kidnap, torture and kill hundreds of people in Northern Nigerian communities.
They said they freely demanded ransoms, looted and destroyed their properties, saying this development bhad led to displacement of millions of people from their abode.
According to them, bandits have become the law, taxing locals on a regular basis.
