An armed gang on early Monday morning abducted a Kano-based businessman, Alhaji Nasiru Na’ayya.
The gunmen reportedly shot dead person and injured another during the attack on the business man.
The victim was seized by the gunmen his home around 12 midnight at Gangarbi Village of Rogo Local Government Area, according to his nephew, who would not want his name in print.
According to him, the gunmen were shooting as soon as they arrived the victim’s house.
He said: “The shooting attarxted the neighbors though there was nothing anyone could do to help Alhaji. When people of the area attempted to prevent the gunmen from going with the victim, they shot two people, which led to the death of one instantly and another was injured and is currently receiving treatment at the hospital.
“The attacks on Gangarbi village and its neighbouring villages like Bari and Gwangwan have been recently regular.”
Meanwhile, the Public Relations Officer for the Kano State Police Command, Abdullahi Haruna, who confirmed the incident, said he was yet to be briefed by the Divisional Police Officer from the area.
He, however, promised to give details of the incident to journalists soon.
