Corpse of the police orderly to former Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly, Chiji Collins, has been found inside a bush.
The decomposing body of Charles as he was simply identified was reportedly found a few days he was missing in the bush at Oguta Local Government Area of the state.
Charles, who is a police inspector, was reportedly abducted a few weeks ago in Ohaji/Egbema area of the state.
Charles and his accompanying man driving a Hilux vehicle were ambushed and seized by unknown gunmen.
The driver was later found dead while the search for Charles’ whereabouts continued until his decomposing body was later found in the bush a few days ago.
Pleading anonymity, the victim’s colleague, who spoke with newsmen, said: “Charles’ body was found in a bush in the Oguta area. His body has already decomposed. He was killed in such an unfortunate manner. He was given a cut on the neck. This is so disgusting.”
Also, the spokesperson for the Imo State Police Command, Henry Okoye, confirmed the incident to journalists.
He said the state Commissioner of Police, Muhammed Berde, had commissioned a team of police investigators to apprehend the killers.
He assured that that the killers are arrested and will be made to face the full wrath of the law.
