No fewer than thirty persons, including twenty three children have been killed by a gunman at a daycare centre in Thailand.
Among the victims were 23 children, two teachers and one police officer, according to an agency report.
The victims were killed when the armed man reportedly attacked the day care facility in Nong Bua Lamphu, northeastern Thailand.
A police boss, Major General Achayon Kraithong, who confirmed the tragic incident, said the gunman stormed and opened fire on the daycare facility.
Speaking further on the incident, Kraithong said the assailant, an ex-police officer, shot and stabbed his victims.
He said the gunman’s motive is yet unknown though he explained that he had been dismissed from police service recently.
Also, a spokesperson for a regional government agency, has confirmed the incident, saying: “So far, 26 deaths have been recorded, which include 23 children, two teachers and one police officer.”
