Five Nigerian pilgrims participating in the ongoing Hajj in Saudi Arabia have died and thirty others are with mental health issues, according to the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).
Head of NAHCON, Usman Galadima, made the disclosure on Sunday while speaking with newsmen.
He said that the mental health challenged persons are receiving treatment from the Hajj medical team and are expected to perform Hajj.
He said: “There are 30 of them with mental health challenges and they are receiving attention from our medical team.
“We have been managing them in our facilities. We have about four psychiatrists on the team.
“We have been managing them and all of them would likely perform hajj because they are a bit stable now.”
