Two persons have died in a ghastly motor accident in Ringim Local Government Area of Jigawa State.
The deceased were among the thirty nine wedding guests travelling Hadejia-Kano Road before the accident.
Confirming the incident, Jigawa State Police Command’s spokesman, Lawan Shiisu Adam, said the accident happened on Saturday around 8.00pm, along Hadejia-Kano Road very close to the Boarding Primary School, Ringim town.
According to Adam, a white Toyota Coaster bus marked FTA 458 HV belonging to the College of Health Science and Technology Funtua, Katsina State lost control and ran into a stationary truck with registration RNG 580 XC.
He said the Coaster bus was conveying 38 wedding guests from Hadejia to Katsina after they had attended a friend’s wedding in Hadejia Local Government of Jigawa State.
He said: “On reaching Ringim Boarding Primary School area, the bus rammed into a parked truck, with registration number RNG 580 XC driven by one Ibrahim Hafizu of Unguwa Uku Tarauni Local Government Area in Kano State.
“Fourteen persons sustained injuries and were all rushed to Ringim General Hospital for medical attention. Two persons, one Usman Ibrahim and Ahmadu Hamad died. The truck driver has been arrested while investigation was ongoing.”
